What a life!!! So incredibly rich of historical, political moments and social changes, rich in encounters with interesting people, rich in fascinating journeys, and above all impressively rich in everything you have lived through, experienced, mastered and achieved. And the whole thing is peppered with your often very funny anecdotes. We are incredibly touched and moved to have got to know you better in this way. And of course it was also particularly interesting for me to be able to understand your special German-English and therapeutic path. Your concluding thoughts on the current political situation are also interesting, and how you manage to put your personal spirituality into words and share it with us, the reader, and in this way pass it on.

I enjoyed your book. I couldn't put it down and spent 2 days reading it cover to cover! You have a real skill at writing..making it interesting, profound and yet also entertaining to read. Through it all, you interweave the personal, interpersonal and social ...no mean task. I am fascinated by your stories of your early childhood. We are fed such a biased, narrow view of those years in Germany, that it is so valuable to hear your account of the reality of the situation for you and your family. What hardships you went through. But you paint so clearly a young boy’s perspective and interject humorous tales to great effect! It makes easy reading...and yet is very informative. I was also fascinated by your journey of empowering young people. I suppose I knew a little of that part of your ... but it is something very dear to my heart as well. I loved your openness in the book and also your wisdom which shone through. It gives a wonderful reflection of all aspects of your life.

I loved the detailed historical events; your book falls into my lap at a time when I’m more interested in this than I have ever been and am already beginning to but also look forward to having the time to learn and read a lot more about European history.

I’ve been meaning to write to you to say how moved I was by your book. You painted vivid pictures of your life and it was fascinating to get a sense of the social and political history of the times you have lived through. I cried several times reading about your experiences as a child. Both my parents were evacuated in the war. Your book is a testament to your life, to both your lives and work. Thank you.

I couldn't stop reading; it really touched me. I was completely immersed in your story as I pictured your poor childhood in my head with a lot of imagination (reminded me a lot of my husband's childhood - he also has a Jewish mother, but a father who was initially a Nazi). What you have experienced and survived, wow! Your social commitment was also very impressive and inspiring for me. You made the best of it given your financially limited options. Of course, I also became part of your story from my time at Chiron. I am full of respect and admiration for the commitment and competence with which you did all this. Especially as you enabled so many of us a more conscious and satisfying life through your work!

I started reading last night and couldn't stop - I just finished and I'm still very moved and impressed by what you've been through in your life. I'm almost at a loss for words - a rich life, an intense life, a life that has left and will leave so many traces. How enriching your work and being has been for so many! Your political and social commitment is particularly admirable. And how much you have experienced of contemporary history, which has shaped you!
